An Yvonne De Carlo Lily Munster cape from The Munsters is being auctioned off by Bonhams Auction House on January 26, 2014.
An excerpt from their description:
"Black polyester cape with red interior, hood, and black ties at neck. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Vincent Dee, the show's Costume Supervisor, stating that he was given this cape by De Carlo at the end of the series. Provenance: Profiles in History, Hollywood Auction 26, lot 703." 
This is part of their Entertainment Memorabilia and Animation Art auction.

They're expecting $2,000-$3,000 for this cross-collectible piece of television memorabilia. Update: The Lily Munster cape was sold for $3,125.

The Coffin Cape Black/Red is more budget-friendly. It's made of black polyester with red satin lining that is gathered for a ruche effect. This full-length hooded cape is secured with a tie closure at the neck. 

You'll remember Lily Munster wore something similar to this when she was going out. If you're in a Gothic mood, choose this cape.

Wear it in August to celebrate Mary Shelley's birthday. Maybe on Frankenstein Friday in October? This will help bring out the vampire, or maybe just the vamp, in you. Wear it to work unexpectedly and no one will mess with you.

A black and red version of the cape for the guys is also available.

What other characters are known for wearing capes? Of course, superheroes like Superman and Batman. How about Count Dracula and Sherlock Holmes?? 

Another famous red cape was worn by Bette Davis in the film Now, Voyager with Claude Rains and Paul Henreid. It had glittering butterflies. The cape is, or at least has been, on display at the Smithsonian.

In Scarlet Angel, she had a cat fight with two other women. Always a popular scene in a movie or TV show. It was featured in magazines as well as posters to promote the film.
